On September 6, Huawei released Kirin 990 Series in China and Germany synchronously, including Kirin 990 and Kirin 990 5G. Kirin 9905G is the world's first flagship 5G SoC chip, as well as the first and only chip fully integrated NSA/SA networking modes. It has achieved comprehensive upgrades in performance, energy efficiency, AI intelligent computing and ISP photography capabilities.
For CPU, Kirin 990 adopts a three-stage energy efficiency architecture with 2 large cores, 2 medium cores and 4 small cores, with a maximum main frequency of 2.86 GHz; the GPU adopts 16-core Mali-G76, and a new system-level Smart Cache to achieve intelligent shunting, effectively saving bandwidth and reducing power consumption; the NPU adopts self-developed Da Vinci architecture, innovatively designed as NPU dual-core + NPU microcore computing architecture. The NPU large core has shown excellent performance and energy efficiency, while the microcore NPU achieves ultra-low power consumption.
