At the PT Expo China 2026 held in Beijing, China Telecom Corporation Ltd. Shanghai Branch (China Telecom Shanghai), partnered with Huawei to unveil the "AI Home Assistant"—a native AI application on the e-Surfing Smart Screen that won the ICT China (2026) Excellent Case Award. Built on the e-Surfing Smart Screen, an AI-powered all-scenario home intelligence hub, the solution creates a unified interaction portal and an AI home companion for communications, lifestyle, education, health, and security, setting a new benchmark for smart home innovation in China.
Born for the Era: Accelerating Home Digital Transformation and Redefining Home Services
Currently, home digitalization is accelerating into a new phase. As AI becomes deeply embedded in daily life, home services are evolving from network connectivity to comprehensive service upgrades. User expectations are shifting from "device interconnection" to "proactive intelligence and seamless collaboration across all scenarios." Aligned with Shanghai's digital transformation and AI industry policies, China Telecom Shanghai leverages its cloud-network synergy and the city-wide digital foundation of "Smart Cloud Shanghai." Working with ecosystem partners including Huawei, it launched a native AI home assistant powered by the e-Surfing Smart Screen. The product integrates large models, edge computing, and deterministic networking, taking home services from "single-point intelligence" to "all-scenario intelligence." It redefines the home service experience, making AI accessible to every household.
World First: Operator-Native AI + Cloud-Network Synergy, Leading in Both Technology and Business Model
This is the world's first home service model to integrate operator-native AI with cloud-network synergy. The solution breaks away from traditional passive device interaction by integrating voiceprint-based user identification, long-term household memory, and proactive need prediction—turning the experience from "people searching for services" into "services finding people." Commercially, it introduces a token-based computing power operation system, upgrading traditional traffic operations to AI computing power operations and creating a new business model for home services. Technically, it adopts a native AI architecture with device-cloud synergy, combining deterministic networking and edge computing to optimize interaction. Local innovations—including Shanghai dialect support and all-scenario ecosystem collaboration—give it a dual lead in both technology and business model, redefining intelligent home services.
Large-Scale Deployment: Proven Results with Widespread User Recognition
The project has been deployed at scale, addressing everyday pain points—fragmented smart devices, complex operations, and inconvenient home health management. Its full voice interaction works for all users, including seniors and children. Features cover every daily scenario: movies, entertainment, education, health, and shopping. With simple commands and instant responses, it makes family life more convenient, and users have widely embraced it.
Technology for Good: Empowering People's Livelihood with Technology and Building a Digital City
The project brings AI to everyone and drives Shanghai's digital and smart city transformation. It focuses on everyday services—improving communications, eldercare, healthcare, community services, and home security—with senior-friendly features that make life more convenient for the elderly. Going forward, it will launch health and wellness capabilities including one-command diagnosis and registration, chronic disease management, and medication reminders at home—driving the senior-friendly and accessible transformation of digital technologies and bridging the digital divide. Through thoughtful AI-powered services, the project enriches family life and builds a smarter, more connected community. By putting technology to work for people, it delivers greater happiness and well-being to citizens.
This award is a strong testament to the innovation of China Telecom Shanghai and Huawei in AI home services. Going forward, both companies will deepen their partnership, using native AI technology to power smart home services to new heights and contribute to building a digital-intelligent China.
