Huawei is sprinting all-out for 5G phone sales. The company’s smart phone sales are expected to overtake Samsung and hit a record high by increasing to 300 million in 2020. It is estimated that 5G phone sales will exceed 50 million in 2020 and be manufactured by the OEM partner, Foxconn.
However, the rumor has not been confirmed yet since Taiwanese manufacturers like Foxconn never have the tradition to make comments on their customer. Liu Yangwei, the Chairman of Foxconn, stated earlier that he looked to a 10% growth in such products as servers and networks caused by the booming 5G business and also a continuous increase in smart phone sales, suggesting that Foxconn remains confident in 5G phones.
