China Telecom has recently released its key operational data for the first quarter of 2025. During Q1 2025, the company saw a net increase of 4.95 million mobile users, bringing the total number of mobile subscribers to 429.47 million. Among these, the number of 5G network users grew by 15.48 million in the quarter, reaching a total of 266.21 million, and achieving a penetration rate of 62%.
In terms of wired broadband users, the quarter recorded a net increase of 670,000, bringing the total number of broadband users to 198.11 million. According to China Telecom's Q1 2025 performance report, the penetration rate of gigabit broadband users is approximately 30%.
