Recently, at the HDC 2025, Yu Chengdong, Huawei's Executive Director and Chairman of the Terminal BG, announced the official launch of the HarmonyOS 6 Developer Beta.
Prior to this, Yu reviewed the innovative achievements made over the past year in building the Harmony ecosystem with partners. Currently, more than 40 Huawei terminal products are equipped with HarmonyOS 5, and the experience of Harmony applications has been rapidly evolving. Over 9,000 applications have participated in the joint development of more than 70 system-level innovative experiences, with more than 30,000 Harmony applications and meta-services now accelerating their development and updates.

The new interconnect architecture, building on the advantage of lower-latency connections, delivers a smarter, more user-friendly, and open innovative interconnect experience. The "tap-to-share" feature now supports more devices, allowing seamless transfer of photos and video files between phones and computers with just a tap.
For developers, the HarmonyOS 6 Developer Beta offers comprehensive enhancements in foundational technologies, development kits, scenario-based solutions, and ecosystem co-building.
The new DevEco CodeGenie accurately understands context, improving efficiency by over 30% in code completion, issue localization, and UI generation, making it the most Harmony-savvy AI development assistant. Huawei has adapted mainstream cross-platform frameworks to Harmony through open-source collaboration, helping partners effectively reuse their existing technical assets. Building on this, the "code once, deploy everywhere" approach reshapes the application development paradigm. Developers only need to master one set of technologies and write one set of code to cover multiple devices and scenarios, significantly boosting development efficiency.
Notably, to encourage more innovation, Huawei launched the Harmony Spark Program, investing a total of 100 million RMB in cash and resources to support more campus developers and creative talents in exploring innovation within the Harmony ecosystem.
