Huawei: 5G Cleanliness Is Not Defined By Politicians

Updated:2020/9/24 10:44

With regard to the so-called " 5G clean networks" program in the United States, Huawei comments that how to define whether 5G is clean or safe requires a rational standard, but not a government or some political figure can control.

Wang Tao, executive director of the Huawei and director of Investment Review Board, pointed out at the press conference of the Huawei Connect 2020 that the digital world needs objective and rational rules. In fact, there are a number of countries and organizations that have introduced laws and regulations on cyberspace governance and data protection, including the German Telecommunications Act, the EU General Data Protection Regulation, plans led by the GSMA and 3GPP. Huawei welcomed the development of uniform rules around cybersecurity from multi-parties, which also helped countries to select suppliers and promote competitiveness within the framework of established laws and regulations.

Wang Tao also said that because many operators made wise choices based on facts, they did not see the "5G clean networks" program to have a clear impact on the Huawei 5G business.
