Huawei's wholly-owned subsidiary HiSilicon Semiconductors (hereinafter referred to as HiSilicon) increased its registered capital from CNY 600 million to CNY 2 billion on July 11. It indicates HiSilicon's financial power, promotes its business credit and favors a larger scale of operation.
HiSilicon's predecessor is Huawei Integrated Circuit Design Center founded in 1991. In October 2004, the Center was renamed Shenzhen HiSilicon Semiconductors Co., Ltd. In recent years, HiSilicon has shown a strong growth momentum. It has come first among China's top ten chip designers for consecutive years. It was ranked 21st in the 2018 world's semiconductor designer rankings.
