During MWC Shanghai 2026, Huawei showcased its “Mobile Home” solution, using side-by-side comparisons on a live network to clearly demonstrate the experience improvements it delivers. With the “Mobile Home” service, remote download speeds rose from roughly 1 MB/s under traditional approaches to over 80 MB/s, latency dropped to 30 ms, and upload speeds improved more than tenfold. The solution has already completed POC (proof-of-concept) verification and commercial delivery with multiple domestic and international operators, and has received industry recognition including the GTI Awards 2026 and Informa awards.

On the technical side, the core breakthrough of “Mobile Home” lies in creatively removing the connectivity barrier between the mobile core network and the home network, providing mobile users with a dedicated, high-speed direct channel to access their homes. Users outside the home can reach home devices directly through the operator’s internal network without detouring over the public Internet, ensuring a consistent experience both inside and outside the home. In terms of security, the direct channel is fully encrypted, and data is transmitted entirely within the operator’s internal network, eliminating the risk of home data exposure to the public Internet at the source.
In terms of application scenarios, the solution mainly addresses three categories of needs. First, fast remote access to home storage: it breaks through the hard bandwidth limits of public network relays, enabling high-definition photos to open instantly and 4K movies to download in minutes, while the experience of retrieving work files remotely feels virtually the same as being at home. Second, low-latency remote gaming: latency is reduced by approximately 40% (based on operator test data), ensuring stable and smooth remote game streaming. Third, remote monitoring and smart health and elderly care: leveraging speeds of 80 MB/s (based on operator test data), it supports real-time, lossless transmission of 4K high-definition surveillance footage. Combined with smart sensors for anomaly alerts and intelligent paging, it provides reliable protection for households such as elderly people living alone.
From an industry value perspective, “Mobile Home” creates a win-win-win ecosystem for consumers, operators, and OTT players. Consumers enjoy a home network experience that breaks down the “physical walls” of connectivity. Operators effectively activate home access traffic and improve network resource utilization. OTT ecosystem partners gain a high-quality network pipe that supports the evolution of services such as cloud gaming, cloud storage, and smart home offerings toward higher quality. As a key expansion of home broadband scenarios, the solution integrates Customer-side and Home-side intelligent agents, allowing home data and smart services to move securely with the user. This lays a network foundation in advance for the large-scale deployment of home AI terminals and AI Agents in the future.
