Today, the National Radio and Television Administration officially released the 2025 National Radio and Television Industry Statistical Bulletin.
According to the data, by the end of 2025, comprehensive radio coverage of the national population reached 99.76%, and comprehensive television coverage reached 99.83%, an increase of 0.02 and 0.01 percentage points respectively compared to 2024.
The integration of provincial cable television networks ("one province, one network") was completed, with the deployment of 10.66 million pluggable micro set-top boxes and universal remote controls, as well as 1.07 million integrated television terminals. The number of actual cable television subscribers nationwide reached 207 million, of which 105 million were two-way digital cable television subscribers; live satellite television subscribers numbered 155 million. IPTV subscribers exceeded 400 million, and the average monthly active users of OTT (Internet TV) reached 285 million.
Regarding 5G user numbers, which have drawn significant market attention, China Broadnet's 5G users approached 42 million by the end of 2025. A C114 inquiry into the statistical bulletins of recent years shows that China Broadnet began releasing its 5G user figures in 2022, with data for 2022, 2023, and 2024 being 5.5 million, 23 million, and 32.7546 million, respectively.
