On January 20, at the Press Conference of the State Council, Liu Duo, Director of Science & Technology Division of MIIT, stated that by the end of 2020, the number of 5G base stations in Beijing has exceeded 37,000, basically realizing continuous coverage of the urban area and some key service zones.
Next, MIIT will continue to enhance its cooperation with relevant departments and Beijing city and thereby offer greater support for Beijing International Science & Technology Innovation Center.
Firstly, efforts will be made to promote the construction of 5G, Industrial Internet and Internet of Vehicles to make Beijing a benchmark in new-type infrastructure construction.
Secondly, measures to be taken to accelerate the building of national manufacturing innovation center and innovation result conversion service platform as innovation carriers, so as to help Beijing grow into the origin of technological innovation.
At last, the integrated development between new-generation information technology (e.g. artificial intelligence) and entity economy would be further promoted to facilitate the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry and thereby fasten the cultivation of new functions of economic development.
