On March 25th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the economic operation of the communication industry from January to February 2024. The data shows that from January to February, the cumulative revenue of telecommunications services reached 292.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.3%.
In terms of users, as of the end of February, the total number of mobile phone users from the three basic telecommunications companies and China Broadcast Network reached 1.746 billion, with a net increase of 2.409 million compared to the end of the previous year. Among them, the number of 5G mobile phone users reached 851 million, with a net increase of 29.22 million compared to the end of the previous year, accounting for 48.8% of mobile phone users, an increase of 2.2 percentage points compared to the end of the previous year.
In terms of network construction, as of the end of February, the total number of 5G base stations reached 3.509 million, with a net increase of 132,000 compared to the end of the previous year, accounting for 29.8% of the total number of mobile base stations, an increase of 0.7 percentage points compared to the end of the previous year.
