C114 was informed that Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) was selected to participate in the China Mobile's TD-LTE technology scale-trial, NSN will provide system equipment for Hangzhou.
In the previous access trial, Nokia Siemens Networks successfully completed 2.3GHz/2.6GHz indoor single system trial and related field validation. With the approvement of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), NSN has become one of the equipment suppliers who meet the scale-trial conditions.
It is understood that TD-LTE is a evolution technology of TD-SCDMA, China Mobile will deploy TD-LTE scale-trial network in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Xiamen, also including a demonstration network in Beijing. China Mobile plans to build more than 1,000 TD-LTE base stations in listed seven cities this year.
Nokia Siemens Networks is one of the major manufacturers to drive the development and industrialization of LTE technology, as of early February this year, NSN has cooperated with 31 operators in the global to deploy LTE FDD commercial services, including LTE technology leader TeliaSonera (C114 Note: The network deployment of Sweden, Denmark, Estonia), Telenor (Denmark) and Deutsche Telekom.
In the period of 2010 Shanghai World Expo and 2011 Mobile World Congress (MWC2011), Nokia Siemens Networks conducted a series of groundbreaking shows, and help China Mobile introduce TD-LTE to global operators, comprehensive promote the TD-LTE's effects on operators and industry. (by Nye Sha)
