Alibaba Telecom recently announced that, in compliance with operator requirements, it will no longer provide number protection services to individual users via mobile phone numbers.
According to the announcement, users' Ali Xiaohao numbers will stop accepting renewals starting July 29, 2025, and will be gradually phased out in batches, with the corresponding numbers being reclaimed. If users have registered internet accounts with these numbers, they are advised to unbind them promptly. Any remaining communication balance will be refunded at the original purchase price within 10 business days after the number's service termination.
Ali Xiaohao is a virtual number application developed by Alibaba Telecom, with the following key features:
No physical SIM card required: Users can generate a virtual number via the app for making calls and sending/receiving messages, linked to their primary number's billing.
