China Mobile Research Institute and Its Partners Unveil the CallingClaw

Updated:2026/4/21 12:01

Recently, China Mobile Research Institute, in collaboration with China Mobile Jiangsu and Huawei, has launched a real-time communication agent—CallingClaw. Built on China Mobile's secure and reliable network infrastructure, CallingClaw seamlessly integrates OpenClaw, a leading AI agent, into calls. This allows the agent to evolve into a versatile personal assistant capable of handling tasks, self-improvement, and adapting to different scenarios.

Task Handling During Calls: Elevating Conversations from "Just Chatting" to "Chatting and Acting," Ensuring Tasks Are Completed During Calls

CallingClaw can accurately detect users' intentions and complete tasks during conversations. For instance, if a user says, "Can you help me organize the points I just discussed into a to-do list and book a car to the airport for 9:00 tomorrow morning?" the agent can recognize the request, create a call summary, compile the key points into a to-do list, and invoke the travel service to reserve a car. This ensures the user doesn't have to end the call or switch between applications, keeping communication smooth and task management efficient.

Guaranteed Security: Telecom-Grade Security Sandbox Protects User Privacy and Data Sovereignty

CallingClaw introduces a robust security sandbox mechanism. All call content, user preferences, and generated data are securely encrypted within a trusted network, strictly following rules on data localization and user authorization. User profiles and personalized services operate in a highly secure environment. Users have the ability to view and manage the information stored by the intelligent assistant at any time, ensuring their data remains firmly in their own hands.

Continuous Improvement: The More You Use, the Better Your Personal Assistant Gets

CallingClaw utilizes secure, trusted, and reliable networks and memory storage to continuously learn from user interactions during calls. It securely analyzes calling patterns, communication preferences, and user needs to gradually craft personalized user profiles. For instance, if a user often mentions their favorite cuisine during calls, the intelligent assistant will remember this detail. In the future, it can proactively recommend suitable restaurants and even reserve dishes that align with the user's preferences, without additional instructions.

As 5G-A is being widely deployed and the vision of 6G becomes clearer, real-time communication is rapidly advancing toward greater intelligence. During the 5G-A phase, CallingClaw will enhance its in-call AI scheduling to support more interactive, intelligent services. Looking ahead to 6G, with "AI as a Service" at its core, CallingClaw will further develop its ubiquitous collaboration and autonomous decision-making abilities. This will facilitate the shift of real-time communication from simple connectivity to intelligent services.

Moving forward, China Mobile remains committed to strengthening industry collaboration. By prioritizing security, user experience, and ecosystem integration, China Mobile and industry partners will forge an open, dependable, and intelligent voice landscape, making every call more efficient, secure, and value-driven.
