Huawei announced on its official website on March 31 that, under the company's rotating chairman system, Wang Tao will serve as the Rotating Chairman from April 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026, presiding over the company's Board of Directors and its Executive Committee. This marks Wang Tao's first appointment to the rotating chairmanship, signifying a further refinement of Huawei's top-level decision-making rotation mechanism.
Wang Tao holds a master's degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University. He joined Huawei in 1997 and has since held various key positions, including President of Product Marketing for the European Region, General Manager of Huawei Italy & Switzerland, President of the Wireless Network Product Line, President of the Network Product Line, President of ICT Strategy & Marketing, President of ICT Products & Solutions, Director of the Product Investment Review Committee, and President of the ICT Infrastructure Business Management Committee.
Within Huawei's business landscape, the ICT infrastructure business, which Wang Tao has long overseen, remains the company's core revenue pillar. In 2025, this segment generated approximately RMB 370.4 billion in revenue, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.6 percent and accounting for over 40 percent of the company's total revenue. This performance has provided solid support for Huawei's steady recovery amid external pressures.
