On August 29, Huawei Investment & Holding Co., Ltd. released its semi-annual report for 2025 on platforms such as the Beijing Financial Assets Exchange.
According to the report, Huawei's revenue for the first half of the year reached 427.039 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 3.95%. However, net profit declined by 32% to 37.195 billion yuan.
Additionally, R&D investment amounted to 96.95 billion yuan, up 9.04% compared to the same period last year, accounting for 22.7% of total revenue. Industry experts attribute the decline in profit primarily to the company's sustained high-intensity R&D investments aimed at overcoming critical technological challenges, such as chip development and operating systems. The rising R&D expenses have consequently compressed profit margins.
