LU Liangjun, Vice General Manager of Market Department of China Telecom, said that it was shown from data that in 2020, about 170 million mobile phones would be replaced by 5G mobile phones in the whole industry, with 60 million mobile phones from China Telecom. China Telecom would cooperate with key manufacturers to launch 5G mobile phones with a price less than RMB2000 in the first half year of 2020. Meanwhile, it would produce millions of pure VoLTE mobile phones with a price less than RMB100.
According to investigation, as many as 92.4% of consumers know 5G mobile phones, among whom 67.8% of consumers are willing to replace old ones with 5G mobile phones. For 5G, consumers are mainly concerned about its speed and looking forward to more application scenarios.
