The "Radio Frequency Technical Requirements for 5G System Equipment in Mid- and Low-Frequency Bands" issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of PRC officially came into effect in July. The first batch of 5G equipment that passed the type approval test in accordance with the technical requirements has obtained the Radio Transmission Equipment Type Approval Certificate awarded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and meet the formal requirements for network access for commercial purpose.
The first batch of approved types is all 5G full-band terminals that support 700MHz and 5G 700MHz base station equipment, which were produced by relevant equipment manufacturers under the organization and coordination of CBN. The whole process of type approval this time only took two weeks from the submission of application documents to the issuance of the Certificate, creating a new record in China’s radio transmission equipment type approval work.
The Type Approval Certificate for this batch of 5G equipment involves a variety of 700MHz large-bandwidth base station equipment, 5G mobile phones, CPE terminals, and industrial modules (including 4 base station types, 10 mobile phone types, 2 CPE terminal types, and 3 industrial module types) from various manufacturers, e.g. Huawei, ZTE, Ericsson, Vivo, Qualcomm, etc. This is the first batch of 5G 700MHz equipment completed type approval test in China, with chips from mainstream manufacturers such as Huawei HiSilicon, Qualcomm, and MediaTek.
