TDC is in talks with Huawei over a potential contract to acquire LTE equipment from the China-based company. As it plans to cover more than 99 percent of Denmark with LTE networks by 2015, TDC has started to explore the market for potential suppliers of technical equipment for LTE. Although TDC is in dialogue with Huawei, it has not yet decided who it will choose as network provider. The partner will be selected on the basis of an overall assessment, in which TDC will look at various factors, namely security, quality, price and reliability.
TDC is in close dialogue with the relevant Danish authorities on its choice of network provider. TDC is committed to bring LTE coverage to 99.8 percent in 207 of the country's most sparsely populated zip codes. At present, Huawei is a network provider for a total of five nationwide mobile networks in Scandinavia.
