Updated:2021/3/26 17:52

Recently, China's three major telecom operators released their 2020 annual financial reports. In general, the operations of the three major operators have shown a steady and positive trend, and their revenue and profits have all achieved positive growth. Among them, the growth rate of mobile data and Internet business revenue brought about by Internet traffic consumption slowed down, and its role in driving operators' performance decreased significantly; while revenues from ICT solutions such as cloud services and data centers serving government and corporate customers increased significantly and became the primary engine of growth. In addition, revenue from fixed value-added telecommunications services based on IPTV, cloud computing, and big data also increased compared to last year. In particular, revenue from cloud services increased the most.

According to relevant data, China Mobile’s operating revenue in 2020 was 695.7 billion yuan, an increase of 3.2% year-on-year, and its net profit was 107.8 billion yuan, an increase of 1.1% year-on-year. With its profitability continued to maintain the leading level of the world’s leading operators, it reversed the trend of profit declining in 2019 and achieved steady growth. China Telecom achieved operating revenue of 393.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.7%, and its net profit was 20.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%. In 2020, China Unicom achieved operating income of 303.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%, and its annual profit was 12.492 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.3%.
