China Mobile: Smoothening Migration from 2G IoT to NB+Cat1/1bis

Updated:2020/11/27 10:18

Li Nan, Deputy Head of the CMRI for Wireless and Endpoint Technology, affirmed the inevitable network development trend of 2G IoT business migration. The migration and network switch can promote service efficiency of quality spectrum, lower carriers' network O&M costs and enhance IoT user experience.

Looking ahead, China Mobile will keep "walking on two legs"--NB+Cat1/1bis. To be specific, it will continue to add NB-IoT base stations on demand and promote coverage in breadth and depth to build a more robust NB-IoT network with better service capacity; it will also continue to reduce costs of Cat1/1bis modules and lower the threshold of technical upgrading for customers in the vertical industry.
