The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently issued an official notice to launch the Pilot Program for Artificial Intelligence Technology Ethics Review and Services in 10 provinces and municipalities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Shandong, Tianjin, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, and Zhejiang. The program aims to implement the Measures for Artificial Intelligence Technology Ethics Review and Services (Trial), explore practical experience, improve relevant systems, and strengthen the mechanism for AI technology ethics review and services.
The program's objectives include: taking the lead in implementing AI ethics review and services in key cities, building specialized institutions and talent teams, validating and developing more than five related standards, basically establishing an AI ethics risk case database, and selecting a number of responsible innovation demonstration applications.
