On April 20, China Mobile released its first-quarter financial report for the period ended March 31.
During the quarter, the company achieved operating revenue of 266.5 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.0%. Core business revenue reached 219.9 billion yuan, down 1.1% year-on-year, while other business revenue rose 12.7% to 46.6 billion yuan. Profit attributable to shareholders stood at 29.3 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.2% year-on-year. EBITDA was 76.7 billion yuan, down 5.0% year-on-year, with EBITDA accounting for 34.9% of core business revenue.
In terms of user base, China Mobile's mobile customers totaled 1.009 billion, a net addition of 3.76 million. The number of broadband connected customers reached 333 million, a net increase of 3.90 million.
