Recently, Huawei released its operating performance for the first quarter of 2022, with a sales revenue of 131 billion yuan and a net profit margin of 4.3 percent.
Hu Houkun, Huawei’s rotating chairman, said, “The quarterly results were in line with forecasts. Our consumer business was heavily impacted, and our ICT (information and communication technology) infrastructure business experienced steady growth.” He also added, “We have yet again increased our investment in R&D to harness the momentum of our innovation and create new value for customers.”
At Huawei Global Analyst Summit 2022, Hu Houkun reiterated that survival from severe challenges was the top priority, which was a consensus among all Huawei people. The point was the survival quality, which came in three tiers: the first tier to provide quality products and solutions to customers; the second tier in the sound operation, including removing low-quality deals; the third tier to keep investing in innovations for the future.
