The June 2024 Domestic Mobile Phone Market Operation Analysis Report released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology shows that in June 2024, domestic market mobile phone shipments were 24.912 million units, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%, of which 5G phones accounted for 22.131 million units, a year-on-year increase of 27.8%, representing 88.8% of total mobile phone shipments for the same period.
From January to June 2024, domestic mobile phone shipments were 147 million units, a year-on-year increase of 13.2%, of which 5G phones numbered 124 million units, a year-on-year increase of 21.5%, representing 84.4% of total mobile phone shipments for the same period.
Regarding domestic and foreign brand composition, from January to June 2024, shipments of domestic brand mobile phones were 124 million units, a year-on-year increase of 17.6%, accounting for 84.4% of total mobile phone shipments for the same period. New models launched totaled 192, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%, accounting for 93.7% of new mobile phone models launched during the same period.
In terms of domestic smartphone development, from January to June 2024, smartphone shipments were 139 million units, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%, accounting for 94.7% of total mobile phone shipments for the same period. New smartphone models launched totaled 149, a year-on-year decrease of 13.9%, accounting for 72.7% of new mobile phone models launched during the same period.
