Yesterday, the latest data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology showed that in the first four months of the year, China's telecommunications service revenue totaled 594.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 1.7%.
As of the end of April, the total number of 5G base stations in China reached 5.009 million, a net increase of 171,000 from the end of last year, accounting for 38.7% of all mobile base stations.
As of the end of April, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecom enterprises and China Broadcasting Network reached 1.838 billion, a net increase of 10.92 million from the end of last year. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 1.262 billion, a net increase of 57.58 million from the end of last year, accounting for 68.7% of all mobile phone users.
The 5G user penetration rates in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern regions were 68.1%, 69.5%, 68.6%, and 69.4%, respectively, all exceeding 68%, indicating further improvement in regional development balance.
In the first four months, cumulative mobile internet traffic reached 142 billion GB, a year-on-year increase of 18.5%. As of the end of April, the number of mobile internet users reached 1.624 billion, a net increase of 14.16 million from the end of last year. The average monthly mobile internet data usage per user (DOU) in April reached 23.17 GB per user per month, a year-on-year increase of 13.5% and 0.13 GB higher than at the end of last year.
