Recently, an insider claims that after AMD and Intel, TSMC has also obtained a license from the US Department of Commerce to continue to supply some of its mature processed products to Huawei, but advanced products such as SoCs are still denied to Huawei. The insider also notes that the US Department of Commerce will not completely block Huawei, but if problems of smartphone processor and base station chips go unsolved, Huawei will still be unable to recover from the loss of its backbone business.
Regarding the news, TSMC says it won’t respond to groundless market rumors.
