Ke Ruiwen, chairman of China Telecom, recently mentioned that the enterprise had adjusted the 5G construction plan on the basis of the preliminary work. They are planning to make up for the halted construction progress due to the COVID-19 epidemic within the first half of 2020, complete the joint construction of 250,000 base stations with China Unicom by the end of September, and aim to reach the 300,000-base-station target by the end of the year.
He also stressed that both operators will join their hands in building and sharing the stations. Until the time of writing, China Telecom has completed the construction of 74,000 5G base stations.
