The latest report released by market research firm IDC shows that as of September, total shipments of Chinese 5G smartphones reached 485,000. Vivo ranks No. 1 with the market share of 54.3%, Samsung No. 2 with the market share of 29.0%, and Huawei No. 3 with the market share of 9.5%, then followed by Xiaomi (4.6%), ZTE (1.5%), and China Mobile (1.1%).
IDC indicates that vivo published two 5G mobile phone models within one month. With aggressive pricing strategy, vivo not only introduced medium to high-end phones through online platforms, but also the high-end flagship handsets through offline channels in advance. It gains a first-mover advantage in the first batch of 5G smartphone market.
