Huawei's Richard Yu announced at the HarmonyOS 7 | HUAWEI Mate XT 2 launch event on September 7 that devices running HarmonyOS 6 and 7 have now surpassed 85 million units. Yu is Huawei's Executive Director, Chairman of the Product Investment Review Committee, and Chairman of the Consumer Business Group.
The milestone comes less than three weeks after HarmonyOS 6 hit 80 million devices on August 20. At this pace, the total install base is expected to cross the 100 million mark in the fourth quarter of this year.
With the device footprint growing steadily, the HarmonyOS ecosystem is also picking up speed. Yu said the app experience is now mature and user‑friendly. After three years of development, HarmonyOS offers over 400,000 apps and services, spanning more than 140 Huawei device models, over 140 OS versions, and more than 23,000 app‑driven innovations. Its app ecosystem is quickly catching up with established platforms.
User sentiment is improving, too. Net satisfaction with the HarmonyOS app experience is up 36%, according to available data.
