Recently, at the Annual Conference on ICT Industry Trends and the ICT Industry Most Valuable Product Awards Ceremony held by Communications World Website (CWW) Omnimedia, Zhejiang Mobile and Huawei won the Best Cloud Core Network O&M Transformation award with their regional cloud core network O&M transformation practice, which draws on Huawei's core network autonomous driving network (ADN) solution and brings significant benefits.
China Mobile is committed to building a next-generation all-cloud network featuring high reliability, agile delivery, and an optimized experience. Zhejiang Mobile is considered a true pioneer in the field, with its 5GC subscriber base increasing rapidly and the average number of active users per day exceeding 20 million. As cloudification takes over the core network, the number of device nodes increases exponentially, the cross-layer fault locating scope becomes wider, and the DR switchover risk rises. It becomes more difficult to ensure reliable service running by simply increasing manpower or relying solely on expertise.
Facing such challenges, Zhejiang Mobile and Huawei jointly promoted a brand new automatic and intelligent cloud-based O&M model that is compliant with the planning of China Mobile's autonomous network (AN) and draws on Huawei's core network ADN solution. This cloud-based O&M model targets four key scenarios: fault prevention, awareness, demarcation, and recovery. Furthermore, it resolves key weaknesses of O&M on regional core networks and provides full-process fault handling capabilities, covering proactive fault detection within 5 minutes, accurate fault demarcation within 10 minutes, and efficient fault recovery within 15 minutes. During a DR switchover, this model identifies optimal network-level flow control parameters based on the HEBO algorithm, predicts signaling impact through surge simulation, and presents the switchover process in real-time.
This model has aided Zhejiang Mobile in completing five DR switchover drills for millions of subscribers, facilitating an intelligent, fast, accurate, and reliable core network O&M. It shortens the mean time to repair (MTTR), increases the mean time between failures (MTBF), and ensures the stable running of a cloudified core network.
