Huawei Donates Euler to Open Atom Open Source Foundation

On November 9, at the Operating System Industry Summit 2021 held in Beijing, Huawei announced that it would donate such assets as the full amount of Euler open source operating system code, brand trademarks, and community infrastructure, to the Open Atom Open Source Foundation.

It indicates that Euler has evolved from an open source program led by founding companies to an operating system for industrial co-construction and community self-governance. It will converge more innovative forces and integrate contributions of all the players in a more open mode. It will head for autonomous prosperity from open governance, accelerate the development of operating system industry and further promote the digital transformation of industries.

Euler, as an open source operating system for digital infrastructure, supports all digital infrastructure scenarios such as IT, CT and OT, covering servers, cloud computing, edge computing and various types of devices including embedded devices. It has attracted nearly 10,000 developers and nearly a hundred special interest groups, and 300 companies have joined the community. Euler has become the most dynamic and mainstream operating system.
