Huawei to Launch HarmonyOS for Smartphones

Huawei has confirmed the launch conference of HarmonyOS for June 2 at 20:00 as well as new products. It also published a short advertisement showing the boot animation of a mobile phone, and is expected to officially announce the use of HarmonyOS for phones. The operating system is only available for devices including smart screens, wearables, and vehicles at present.

HarmonyOS is a future-oriented, IoT-oriented, and all-scenario-oriented distributed operating system created by Huawei. Xu Zhijun, Huawei’s rotating chairman, disclosed at the Huawei China Ecological Conference 2021 on May 17th, Huawei’s “1+8” devices will be fully upgraded to HarmonyOS and the number of devices equipped with HarmonyOS will be over 200 million by the end of 2021. At the same time, HarmonyOS will be fully adapted to third-party partners’ devices. More than 100 million devices will install HarmonyOS, including smart homes, health equipment, travel, and education.

In addition, more than 1,000 smart hardware partners, over 50 module and chip solution suppliers, and more than 280 APP manufacturers have participated in the construction of HarmonyOS ecosystem.
