China Unicom recently released its 2025 third-quarter performance report. During the reporting period, the company achieved operating income of RMB 293 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1.0%, of which service revenue stood at RMB 261.6 billion, up 1.1% year-on-year. Pre-tax profit reached RMB 24.7 billion, and profit attributable to equity holders of the company was RMB 20 billion, representing a year-on-year growth of 5.1%.
Network communication maintained steady progress with positive momentum. The connection scale continued to expand: mobile subscribers reached 356 million, with a net increase of 12.48 million; fixed broadband subscribers hit 129 million, a net addition of 6.79 million. The net growth of broadband and mobile users reached a multi-year high for the same period; the number of IoT connections exceeded 700 million. Persistently deepening integrated development, integrating new business elements, and expanding user scale and value, the ARPU of integrated package users remained above RMB 100.
Computing-network digital intelligence capabilities were upgraded. Computing power business achieved large-scale breakthroughs, with China Unicom Cloud generating revenue of RMB 52.9 billion. The intelligent transformation of data centers yielded remarkable results, driving data center revenue to RMB 21.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8.9%. Continuously deepening the integration of digital and intelligent technologies as well as digital and real economies, the company promoted in-depth integration of 5G, AI and industrial internet to empower the comprehensive upgrading of thousands of industries. The cumulative number of customers served by 5G virtual private networks exceeded 20,000.
Network investment improved quality and efficiency. Adhering to high-standard construction and high-efficiency operation, the company fully deepened co-construction, sharing, joint maintenance and optimization, achieving a significant improvement in network capabilities. It promoted the upgrading of mobile networks from 5G to 5G-A and broadband networks from gigabit to 10-gigabit, resulting in a marked enhancement of user experience. Increasing the innovative supply of computing power networks, the total intelligent computing scale exceeded 35 EFLOPS.
Scientific and technological innovation capabilities continued to strengthen. Focusing on key technologies such as next-generation internet, big data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, the company intensified layout in cutting-edge areas including 6G, low-altitude intelligent internet, satellite internet, embodied intelligence and quantum technology. It obtained the satellite mobile communication business operation license issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Increasing investment in R&D, the company's R&D expenditure grew by 5.9% year-on-year, yielding more landmark achievements.
