China Mobile recently released its interim results for 2024. During this period, China Mobile achieved a revenue of RMB 546.7 billion, representing a year-on-year growth of 3.0%. Out of this, the revenue from its main businesses reached RMB 463.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.5%. The net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company was RMB 80.2 billion, an increase of 5.3% year-on-year, with a basic earnings per share of RMB 3.75.
The report indicates that China Mobile's "Dual Gigabit" network remains a leader in the industry. The company has been fully committed to forging a leading advantage in its 5G network and has deepened its co-building and sharing initiatives with China Broadcasting Network. In the first half of the year, China Mobile invested a total of RMB 31.4 billion in its 5G network, bringing the total number of 5G base stations to over 2.29 million, including 705,000 base stations operating at the 700MHz frequency.
China Mobile has been a pioneer in the large-scale deployment of 5G-A, focusing on enhancing capabilities such as RedCap, triple carrier aggregation, and integrated communication sensing. Currently, 5G-A commercial deployments have been advanced in over 280 cities, with plans to expand to over 300 cities within the year. In addition, the company has been precisely building gigabit broadband capabilities tailored to different scenarios. As of the end of June 2024, 100% of urban and county areas and over 97% of rural areas across the country have gigabit platform capabilities, with gigabit coverage reaching 438 million households.
