According to official information from China Mobile, as of May 2023, the number of users of China Mobile's all-optical WiFi (FTTR) service has exceeded 1 million.
China Mobile said that all-optical WiFi is a new type of home gigabit optical fiber network solution, including all-optical networking terminals + basic installation and commissioning services such as optical fiber wiring + scenario-based WiFi application services. It connects to gigabit broadband upwards and connects to the home all-optical network through optical media such as optical fiber and optoelectronic hybrid cables, forming a unified network to support secure, accelerated, IoT protection and other online applications. It meets customers' demand for high-quality networks and provides a solid network foundation for smart home information technology solutions (HDICT).
As of May 2023, China Mobile has released the technical specifications of all-optical networking products and participated in the formulation of relevant industry standards of CCSA. It has worked closely with seven partners including Huawei, ZTE, TP-LINK, and Ruijie Networks to launch 27 high-quality products.
According to reports, China Mobile is still vigorously deploying FTTR this year, and various provincial branches are promoting joint procurement work.
