According to Economic Performance of Communications Industry from January to October 2022 recently released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as of the end of October, the total number of fixed broadband Internet subscribers of the three major telecommunications operators has reached 583 million, a net increase of 47.45 million from the end of the previous year. Among these subscribers, those with an access rate of 100 Mbps or above have reached 547 million, accounting for 93.8% of the total number; those with an access rate of 1000 Mbps or above have reached 81.35 million, accounting for 13.9% of the total number and an increase of 46.76 million from the end of the previous year.
As of the end of October, the total number of mobile phone subscribers of the three major telecommunications operators has reached 1.682 billion, a net increase of 39.47 million from the end of the previous year. Specifically, the number of 5G mobile phone subscribers has reached 524 million, accounting for 31.1% (up 9.5% from the end of the previous year) of any mobile phone subscribers and a net increase of 169 million from the end of the previous year.
As of the end of October, the three major telecommunications operators has developed 1.777 billion cellular IoT terminal users, a net increase of 379 million from the end of the previous year; it had surpassed the number of mobile phone subscribers by 94.82 million, accounting for 51.4% of any mobile network terminal accesses (including mobile phone subscribers and cellular IoT terminal users). The total number of IPTV subscribers has reached 374 million, a net increase of 25.32 million from the end of the previous year.
