At the press conference held on October 28 by the Ministry of Commerce, in response to the decision made by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission to cancel China Telecom's China hits back at US' Cancellation of China Telecom's Licenses business license, Shu Yuting, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce, stated that the United States has generalized the concept of national security with such decision and is abusing its state power to suppress Chinese enterprises with the absence of acceptable grounds, which violates the market principle and would undermine the cooperative relationship between China and the United States. China holds grave concerns over this.
As pointed out by Shu Yuting, China's economic and trade team has made solemn representations to the US side. The United States should make immediate correction, and provide an equal, open, fair and discrimination-free environment for Chinese companies investing in the United States. China will take necessary measures to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises.
