People's Bank of China (PBOC) on May 26 awarded the first batch of third-party payment licences to 27 domestic enterprises, including TenPay, Alipay, 99Bill and other enterprises.
Last year June, the PBOC issued the "payment service management approach for non-financial institutions", which clearly rules that all the non-financial institutions should get the payment license to be a payment institution, and accept the supervision and management of People's Bank of China.
And in the first batch of 32 enterprises who applied the licence, 27 enterprises of which won the licenses. C114 learnt that TenPay (Tencent's) and Alipay (Alibaba's) has the most 500 million yuan registered capitaln, and the least registered capial of the 27 enterprises is 30 million yuan.
