China Unicom released its 2025 annual performance report on March 19.
The report showed that the company achieved operating revenue of 392.22 billion yuan in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%; net profit reached 20.82 billion yuan, up 1.0% year on year.
In key business segments, revenue from strategic emerging industries accounted for more than 86% of the total. Computing power business made up over 15%, rising 1.1 percentage points year on year. Revenue from artificial intelligence surged more than 140% year on year. International business revenue hit 13.6 billion yuan, growing over 9% year on year.
Full-year capital expenditure stood at 54.2 billion yuan, accounting for 16% of service revenue, a decrease from the previous year. Capital expenditure for 2026 is projected at 50 billion yuan, a further drop of 4.2 billion yuan, with investment in computing power expected to exceed 35%.
In terms of network capabilities, 5G-A base stations have been deployed in more than 330 cities. 10G PON (gigabit optical network) has been piloted commercially in over 100 cities. The company has stepped into cutting-edge sectors including 6G and quantum communication, launching dedicated quantum security lines.
On the user front, total subscribers surpassed 1.2 billion to reach 1.255 billion, an increase of 110 million year on year. IoT users exceeded 700 million. 5G subscribers numbered 232 million, with 23,520 5G industry virtual private network customers.
Converged package users saw a net increase of over 20 million, with penetration rate exceeding 78%, and ARPU for converged services remaining above 100 yuan. The company promoted innovations in eSIM services, benefiting nearly 3 million users.
In addition, revenue from 5G private networks reached 12.3 billion yuan, surging more than 50% year on year. Data center business revenue hit 28.1 billion yuan, up 8.5% year on year, with intelligent computing capacity reaching 45 EFLOPS. China Unicom Cloud revenue rose 5.2% year on year.
