The China Online Audio-Visual Development Research Report (2026) was released at the 13th China Online Audio-Visual Conference, which opened in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on April 15.
According to the report, as of December 2025, the number of online audio-visual users in China stood at 1.099 billion, a net increase of 7.76 million year on year.
The report noted that online audio-visual has surpassed instant messaging, online payment, online shopping and search engines to rank first among Internet applications for many years. It has become the digital service carrier with the widest penetration, largest user coverage, and strongest connection to various industries and hundreds of millions of people in China.
