At the end of August, the number of Internet broadband access ports across the country reached 1.049 billion, showing a net increase of 31.45 million compared with the end of the previous year. Among others, the number of fiber access (FTTH/O) ports reached 1 billion, showing a net increase of 41.62 million over the end of the previous year; the proportion of the same also increased from 94.3% at the end of the previous year to 95.5%. At the end of August, the number of 10G PON ports with gigabit network service reached 12.14 million, with a net increase of 4.282 million over the end of the previous year
Also, according to the announcement, 5G network construction is picking up speed. At the end of August, the total number of 5G base stations reached 2.102 million, accounting for 19.8% of the total number of mobile base stations, which proportion increases by 5.5% compared with the end of the previous year. Among them, 677,000 5G base stations were newly built in the period from January to August.
