SMIC recently released its 2020 performance report. The report shows that in 2020, its revenue reached 27.47 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.8%; the net profit reached 4.332 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 141.5%. In addition, SMIC’s asset scale soared in 2020, with total assets reaching 204.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 78.2%; the net assets reaching 99.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 127.5%.
According to the report, SMIC completed the development of the second-generation FinFET low-voltage process in 2020, which significantly improved the transistor density per unit area compared to the previous generation technology. At present, it has entered the risk mass production.
In 2020 and the same period last year, SMIC’s main business income from countries and regions other than China mainland and Hong Kong accounted for 36.5% and 40.6% respectively, of which the main business income from North America accounted for 23.2% and 26.4% respectively, the report said. At the same time, most of the company’s main material and equipment suppliers are overseas companies.
