Domestic Market Share Squeezed by Huawei, Xiaomi Fastening Overseas Development

December 9, Xiaomi held a press conference in Tokyo, Japan, and officially entered the Japanese market. Xiaomi emphasized that its hardware profits will be kept below 5% in all markets and its ambition to seize the market is obvious.

According to market analysis agency Canalys, the market share of Huawei mobile phones in mainland China in the third quarter of this year increased from 24.9% to 42.4% compared to the same period last year. Market shares of Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and other mainland mobile phone brands have all declined and Xiaomi has fallen from 13.1% To 9% in particular. The saturated domestic market forces domestic brands such as Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo to shift their focuses to markets such as India, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

Xiaomi has performed very well in the European market. In the third quarter, its smartphone shipments to Europe reached 5.5 million, a 73% increase from the same period last year. While in India, Xiaomi has occupied a 26% market share, ranking first.
