At the recently opened 2025 China 5G + Industrial Internet Conference, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) officially initiated commercial trials for satellite Internet of Things services.
Earlier in August, MIIT issued the "Guiding Opinions on Optimizing Market Access to Promote the Development of the Satellite Communication Industry," aiming to accelerate the establishment of a standardized, collaborative, complementary, and win-win development framework for the satellite communication sector. This initiative seeks to consolidate and enhance the competitive edge and leading position of China's information and communication industry.
The launch of commercial trials will diversify the supply in the satellite communication market, support the secure and healthy development of emerging industries such as commercial aerospace and the low-altitude economy, and contribute to the formation of a new development paradigm.
