China Telecom recently announced its performance for the first three quarters of 2025 on the A-share market. During the reporting period, the company achieved a revenue of 394.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.6%, with service revenue amounting to 366.3 billion yuan, up 0.9% year-on-year. The net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was 30.8 billion yuan, a 5.0% increase compared to the same period last year. The basic earnings per share were 0.34 yuan.
China Telecom's core business demonstrated steady development, with the number of 5G network subscribers reaching 290 million, representing a penetration rate of 66.9%. Total mobile internet data traffic increased by 16.9% year-on-year, and the average monthly mobile data usage (DOU) per user reached 22.3 GB, up 11.4% year-on-year. The penetration rate of gigabit broadband subscribers reached approximately 31.0%.
The company's strategic emerging businesses continued to expand on a large scale. Revenue from IDC services reached 27.5 billion yuan, a 9.1% year-on-year increase. Revenue from security services amounted to 12.6 billion yuan, up 12.4% year-on-year. Revenue from smart services grew by 62.3% year-on-year, video network revenue increased by 34.2% year-on-year, satellite communication revenue rose by 23.5% year-on-year, and quantum revenue surged by 134.6% year-on-year.
It is worth noting that in the first three quarters, China Telecom's R&D expenses reached 9.1 billion yuan, a 4.4% year-on-year increase. This was primarily driven by the company's continued focus on applied basic research, emphasizing networks, cloud and cloud-network integration, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, and security, as well as strengthening efforts to tackle key core technologies.
