China Mobile Expands Investment in Low-Altitude Economy

Updated:2025/4/15 17:33

On April 11, the China Mobile Cloud Intelligence Computing Conference - Low-Altitude Digital New Infrastructure Development Forum was held in Suzhou. During the event, China Mobile unveiled its "SPACE" low-altitude new infrastructure capabilities and the "Wanxiang Zhihang" low-altitude navigation network product.

The "SPACE" low-altitude new infrastructure capabilities consist of five solutions: "S" stands for the 5G-A Sensing Network, "P" represents the Zhongyi Lingyun Platform, "A" denotes the "Wanxiang Zhihang" AI-navigation network, "C" refers to the Communication Network, and "E" signifies Electronic Charts.

Additionally, the "Wanxiang Zhihang" low-altitude navigation network product, independently developed by the China Mobile (Shanghai) Industrial Research Institute, made its public debut. The product boasts three core advantages:

Accurate Navigation: Leveraging the world's largest 5G and BeiDou high-precision positioning network, it provides terrestrial and satellite-based centimeter-level positioning services, with horizontal accuracy of 2-5cm and vertical accuracy of 2-8cm. This ensures precise adherence to predetermined flight paths and enhances airspace utilization by over four times, supporting scenarios like close-proximity aerial inspections and precise logistics delivery, ensuring no low-altitude aircraft gets "lost."

Clear Visibility: Through comprehensive 3D airspace mapping, real-time airspace dynamics are visualized. With AI modeling technology, terrain, buildings, communication, and meteorological data visualization and conflict detection are achieved, enabling users to have a clear overview of each airspace.

Deep Calculation: Building on years of experience in industries such as industrial and transportation, the low-altitude algorithm boasts an accuracy rate of over 95%. It offers more than 50 pre-trained algorithms for low-altitude scenarios, creating an AI smart agent for low-altitude applications. This enables functions such as target recognition optimization, airspace health analysis, autonomous route planning, and automatic operational inspections, ensuring every route has AI protection.

The launch of the "Wanxiang Zhihang" low-altitude navigation network marks a significant step for China Mobile in the low-altitude economy sector. Through an integrated "land-air" premium navigation network, it achieves seamless connectivity and efficient coordination among ground infrastructure, aerial infrastructure, and comprehensive transportation hubs. This ultimately aims to build a safe, efficient, and open low-altitude three-dimensional transportation system, empowering new urban lifestyle models.
