China Mobile Deploys First Batch of 12 Smart Computing Center Nodes

Updated:2024/4/30 11:40

From April 28th to 29th, at the China Mobile Computing Network Conference, Li Huidi, Deputy General Manager of China Mobile, introduced that China Mobile has deployed the first batch of 12 smart computing center nodes in regions such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Chengdu-Chongqing, Guizhou, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Heilongjiang, Hubei, and Shandong. The computing capacity reaches 11EFLOPS.

To accelerate the development of smart computing technology, China Mobile has built a multi-level, fully covered "N+X" (N represents the smart computing center nodes, X represents the edge nodes) layout. In western regions such as Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Guizhou, and Heilongjiang, four smart computing centers have been established, leveraging intensive and green energy advantages to provide large-scale training and inference capabilities nationwide. In hot business areas such as Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao, Chengdu-Chongqing, Shandong, and Hubei, eight smart computing centers have been built to support regional digital transformation. Among them, the Hohhot smart computing center node is the largest single liquid-cooled smart computing center in the world, providing 6.7EFLOPS (FP16) of intelligent computing power to meet large-scale, low-latency, and diversified computing needs. The project has introduced multiple new technologies such as high-speed lossless networks, high-performance storage, and cold plate liquid cooling.
