According to data from the MIIT, China has built the world's largest 4G network. In 2018, 439,000 new 4G base stations have been built, totaling to 3.72 million with good coverage in rural areas with large population density.
As of the end of December, the total number of 4G users in China has reached 1.17 billion, with a net increase of 169 million in the whole year and the penetration rate approaching 84%. The amount of mobile phone users in China reached 1.57 billion, and the net increase of mobile phone subscribers has increased from less than 100 million in 2017 to 149 million, creating a 10-year record.
