Updated:2012/5/7 16:45

Tele2 Netherlands will begin offering consumer LTE services for laptops and tablets from 8 May. Customers can access mobile internet via a special dongle they can get for a one-off payment of EUR 75 and then a subscription priced at EUR 30 per month. The 4G network offers download speeds of up to 40 Mbps and upload speeds of 3 Mbps. The subscription for laptops and tablets has a monthly data limit of 3 GB. The 4G network is mainly concentrated in the Randstad area, offering a coverage of 100 square kilometres. The network is available in parts of Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Haarlem, Lelystad and Tilburg. Tele2 Netherlands started the network trial following successful technical tests begun in Diemen in the summer of 2010. Tele2 is the third operator in a week to launch LTE in the Netherlands, after KPN and Ziggo earlier launched limited data services over LTE as well.
